Bullying will always be in problem in schools, parks, and in many places frequented by children. The usual place where bullying happens is at the school where older and bigger children have the chance to do their hostile mistreatment of younger and smaller children. The bullying may consist of taunting, name-calling or actual physical harm inflicted on the victims.
The Effects of Bullying on Children
Children can suffer from mental anguish, anxiety, depression and physical illness after being bullied. According to Dr. Anita Gurian, Ph.D. of NYU Child Study Center, the side effects of bullying like a drop in grades, an increase in anxiety and loss of social life have been reported by a number of children and adolescents and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reports that 50% of children are bullied and 10% are victims of bullying on a regular basis.
